Io continuo a considerare i vecchi Fates Warning come i capostipiti del prog moderno, quelli a cui si sono ispirati i gruppi che il prog lo suonano ora. Vero, sottovalutatissimi, specie perche provenienti da un periodo in cui sembrava ci fosse spazio solo per il power e il trash (84-88), e in cui dominavano Metallica e iron Maiden.
I FW sono americani, del Connecticut per la precisione. Leader e fondatore del gruppo e' stato (ed e') Jim Matheos, coadiuvato alle chitarre da Frank Aresti, e da John Arch alla voce, poi sostituito dal pur bravo Ray Adler.
Il miglior disco resta senz'altro Awaken The Guardian, con le bellissime Fata Morgana, Prelude To Rain, The Sorceress, Guardian, ma anche il suo predecessore The Spectre Within, in special modo Traveler in Time, The Apparition, Epitaph, Kyrie Eleyson, e No Exit, con Anarchy Divine, In a Word, The Ivory Gates of Dreams. Le ultime produzioni non mi sono piaciute molto...

Ah una curiosita':
John Arch e' stato vicinissimo a diventare il cantante dei Dream Theater. In testa alle loro preferenze durante le audizioni (in cerca di un cantante dopo l'abbandono di Charlie Dominici) c'era lui....poi si presento' alle audizioni un certo James LaBrie....

questa la sapevo...su internet puoi trovare anche A furtune inlies cantata da lui ^_^
cmq nn ce' manco un assolo in quello poke song che mi ono scaricato... eppure il chitarrista mi sembra molto bravo...

No se non le so non rispondo. Diciamo che mi sono fortemente acculturato dal 92 al 98 con tutti i numeri dei vari Metal Hammer, Metal Shock, ecc ecc. Poi ovvio, se non mi ricordo come si chiama il chitarrista tal dei tali, magari una piccola ricerca la faccio, ma almeno i fondamenti li conosco...
